How the ReadyShelf website and current iPhone beta approach privacy.
This page describes the intended operation of the current ReadyShelf beta. It should be checked against the final distributed app and hosting configuration before external testing or wider distribution.
Who operates ReadyShelf?
ReadyShelf is developed, operated and supported by Manley Infrastructure Services Ltd, United Kingdom. For privacy questions, email contact@manleyinfrastructure.com.
The ReadyShelf website
This is a static information website. It does not include an account registration form, an email newsletter form or embedded advertising. When you visit, your browser and the hosting provider may process technical request information, such as IP address, requested pages and basic security logs, to deliver and protect the website. Refer to your hosting provider's applicable privacy information for infrastructure-level processing.
Inventory stored in the app
ReadyShelf is designed to keep household product, batch, quantity and location data locally on your device. No ReadyShelf account is required for the current beta. Your data may leave the app when you explicitly export or share a backup, depending on the destination you select. Keep exported backups somewhere secure.
Online product lookups
When you look up a barcode not already recognised locally, ReadyShelf may contact Open Food Facts. This request can disclose the barcode and standard network information to that provider. Check Open Food Facts for its own terms and privacy information. The lookup requires an internet connection.
Camera and notifications
The app requests camera access when needed to scan barcodes. It may request notification permission if you choose local expiry reminders. You can manage these permissions in iOS Settings.
Contacting us
If you email us, we receive the contact details and information you choose to include. We use those details to respond to your enquiry. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in support emails.
